Asobo Studios, the developer of Microsoft Flight Simulator for Xbox Series consoles, has added some new elements that gamers will love just in time for the game’s launch next month.
The Nordic region (particularly, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden) is the centerpiece of World Update V, which adds breathtaking vistas to an already aesthetically spectacular product.
A quick clip demonstrates the benefit of paying extra attention to landscapes (there are so many fjords) and urban areas with detailed architecture enabling you to fly about and see anything from historic castles to modern stadiums, towers, and bridges.
The expanded zones include “100 airports and 77 carefully selected spots of interest,” according to the team. In the trailer, you can see Lego House and Frederiksborg Castle, as well as the Arctic Cathedral and Sarek National Park.
The Xbox release date has been set for July 27th, following many patches that have optimized the game and even reduced its massive initial installation size. While Xbox One fans wait for cloud streaming to deliver high-end titles to them later this year, you can get this latest upgrade for free if you have a competent PC — it’s even localized in Swedish, Norwegian, and Finnish if you want the complete Nordic experience —
