Microsoft intends to reveal details about its “next generation of Windows” at an event later this month. The software behemoth has begun sending invitations to the media for a Windows event on June 24th.
At the Windows event, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and Chief Product Officer Panos Panay will both speak. On June 24th, Microsoft’s Windows event will begin at 11 a.m. ET / 8 a.m. PT.
The invitation comes just a week after Nadella teased an announcement about the “next generation of Windows.” Microsoft is expected to reveal the next major changes to Windows, which will most likely include a number of visual enhancements.
We can expect some significant UI changes to Windows under the codename “Sun Valley.” Microsoft’s event invitation even seems to hint at a new Windows logo.

Microsoft confirmed last month that Windows 10X, the operating system designed specifically for dual-screen devices, will no longer be available. Instead, the visual elements of Windows 10X are now being rolled into the main version of Windows 10.
A lot of the visual work has already begun, with new system icons, improved File Explorer, and the end of Windows 95-era icons.
Microsoft is also working to improve the fundamentals of Windows, including fixes for an issue with rearranging apps on multiple monitors, the addition of the Xbox Auto HDR feature, and enhancements to Bluetooth audio support.
Nadella has also promised to unlock a better economy for developers and creators within Windows itself, so we’ll likely get a closer look at the Windows Store changes.
In recent months, Microsoft has been working on a new app store for Windows, and rumours have suggested that Microsoft will open its store to all apps and rival payment platforms.
