CollinsOn Thursday, Microsoft will release an update to Edge that will allow the browser’s password manager to log you into your mobile apps. The new version, Edge 92, also comes with new password security features, such as a password health dashboard.
The Edge mobile app should be able to access the browser’s password manager in a manner that sounds similar to BitWarden or 1Password. You can quickly log in to applications like Pinterest or Instagram using your Edge login credentials, presumably with the autofill-type experience you’re used to.

Microsoft Authenticator previously had a universal password management functionality that allowed you to choose it as the default autofill option in iOS or Android. According to Microsoft, the mobile version of Edge will function in the same way, allowing you to use it as an autofill option in iOS.
A password health dashboard in Edge can now tell you if a password has been used on many sites and whether a fresh password is “strong,” according to Microsoft. Both features seem like they should have been standard across Edge long ago, but it’s nice that they’re finally here.
Microsoft has released an Outlook extension for Edge that allows you to check your calendar and contacts, as well as send an email, without having to open a new tab or the Outlook program.
The updated version of Edge is now available for download.
